A Farewell Message From Peter B. Alden, President & CEO

Peter B. Alden will retire from his position as Bay State Savings Bank’s President and CEO effective August 31, 2023.

As I reflect upon the past twelve years as Bay State Savings Bank’s President and CEO, I am overwhelmed with a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to have served this wonderful organization. Personally, I would like to extend a message of thanks to all our customers, exceptional staff, dedicated directors, corporators and, of course, the incredible Worcester community.

To the loyal customers of Bay State Savings Bank, I extend my heartfelt thanks for trusting us with your financial needs. Throughout the years, you have allowed us to be a part of your lives, supporting your dreams, and guiding you towards your goals. It is because of your unwavering loyalty and continued support that Bay State Savings Bank will continue to flourish as a pillar of trust and reliability in the Worcester community.

To the extraordinary staff at Bay State Savings Bank, I extend my deepest appreciation for your commitment, professionalism, and hard work. Your dedication to excellence and your tireless efforts have helped shape Bay State Savings Bank into what it is today. Each one of you has contributed to making our institution a place of warmth, care, and exceptional service. I am truly fortunate to have worked alongside such talented individuals, and I am confident that you will continue to flourish in your future endeavors.

To the Board of Directors of Bay State Savings Bank, I am grateful for your guidance and support throughout my tenure. With your support our Bank has navigated through both prosperous and challenging times, always prioritizing the best interests of our customers and community. Your leadership has set the foundation for continued success and growth in the future.

And finally, to the Worcester community, I extend my wholehearted appreciation for embracing the new guy in town with open arms over a decade ago, giving me the opportunity to form connections and relationships to last a lifetime. Worcester is a city built upon optimism, kindness, and resilience—a place where vibrant communities thrive, and dreams are nurtured. Your support and partnerships have brought joy and purpose to my role as President, and it has been an honor to serve you.

As I prepare for the next adventure, please be assured that you will remain close to my heart. I leave Bay State Savings Bank in capable hands, knowing that the future will be shaped by a team that is dedicated to your financial well-being and the betterment of the Worcester community.
