Bay State Savings Bank's Dig for Cash Event to Benefit 365Z Foundation

February 2, 2016

On Friday, February 12th, Bay State Savings Bank will conduct its 12th Annual $5,000 Dig for Cash. The event will benefit Bay State Savings Bank’s Champions for Children initiative, established in 2004 to support local organizations that provide a wide range of aid and opportunities for the community’s youth.

Sponsored in part by WXLO Radio and Wachusett Mountain, the $5000 Dig for Cash will take place at Wachusett Mountain in Princeton, MA. Lift tickets for the event, which typically cost around $50 for 6 hours of night skiing, will be offered in advance at all Bay State Savings Bank branches for a $25 donation to Bay State Savings Bank’s Champions for Children. In addition to reduced lift ticket prices, $5,000 Dig for Cash participants will have the opportunity to win a total of $5,000 in cash, prize giveaways and gift cards. And contestants who enter the “Final Dig” drawing hosted at all Bay State Savings Bank branches, will be eligible to compete in the last “Dig” of the evening, at 9pm on February 12th, for a Trip for 4 to Florida! Please visit www.wxlo.com for contest rules and details.

This year’s Champions for Children honoree and recipient of the event proceeds is 365Z Foundation, a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to provide ideas, guidance and resources designed to encourage, inspire and challenge individuals to perform conscious acts of kindness – to make the decision to help someone in some way, every day; and in doing so, help perpetuate a community-wide kindness movement, raising awareness and personal commitment to helping others.

“We were inspired by the efforts of 365Z Foundation and are very happy to support them as they work in local schools and throughout the community to promote kindness,” said Diane Giampa, SVP/Human Resources & Marketing at Bay State Savings Bank. “Schools that have introduced the 365Z curriculum have reported its effectiveness in increasing positive behavior and reducing bullying among students. What could be better? We are honored to be a part of that.”
