WORCESTER, MA – October 2016 – Bay State Savings Bank raised $1,000.00 for its Champions for Children honoree, Children’s Smile Coalition at the Matthew Slater “Meet & Greet” Signature Event on October 17th. The event, hosted by Peppercorn’s Grille & Tavern and Bay State Savings Bank, with media sponsor Nash Icon 98.9 radio, provided an opportunity for guests to get 5-time Pro-Bowler Matthew Slater’s autograph and take photos with him. The Bank collected $25 donations for tickets in its branches before the event with proceeds going to the charity and Bank employees donated $5 to wear jeans to work on several “Dress Down” days to help the cause.
Representatives from Bay State Savings Bank and Nash Icon 98.9 Radio presented Children’s Smile Coalition with the proceeds from the event at a Check Presentation Ceremony on October 27th. “The money raised will go toward the organization’s programs – Santa’s Big League, which provides holiday gifts for needy teens, Project KIN, which provides healthy snacks, toiletries, clothing and school supplies to children of all ages that are living in poverty, and our Young Heroes Night, an event that recognizes youth who are making extraordinary contributions to our communities.” said Mary Ellen Wessell, Founder and CEO of Children’s Smile Coalition and winner of the 2016 Myra Kraft Community MVP Award. “We are truly grateful to Bay State Savings Bank, Peppercorn’s, Nash Icon Radio and everyone who attended the event, for their generous support.”
